Forest Bathing

Forest Bathing is a translation of the Japanese term Shinrin Yoku. It broadly means taking in, through all of your senses, the forest atmosphere. It is not simply a walk in the woods, but a conscious and contemplative practice of being immersed in  nature.

Forest Bathing has been shown in many peer-reviewed studies to have great benefits for mental and physical health. These include improving feelings of wellbeing, reducing levels of stress and anxiety and lowering blood pressure.  It can even boost your immune system.

My guided walks are carefully planned and structured to help you get the full benefits of connecting with nature. We start by relaxing with some gentle breathwork and then I will give open ended invitations for you to try.  You go and wander alone for a while and then return to a sharing circle where (if you wish) we all share our experiences with the group.

Every aspect of the Forest Bathing walk is optional: in fact I would encourage you to go with the flow and welcome what feels right for you in the moment. Be prepared to slow down and really notice what is around you and to spend some time in silence.  Come with an open mind and an open heart for a beautiful, relaxing and awe-inspiring experience. 

 

I will  guide you on a journey into remembering you are at one with nature, creating a warm and welcoming event.
